Robert Patrick took birth in the family of Nadine and Robert Patrick, a banker as the oldest one among the five siblings. He’s the brother of Richard Patrick, former guitarist of Nine Inch Nails and the lead singer of two famous rock bands. He spent his childhood in a small suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, known as the Bay Village. In 1977, Robert received his graduation from Farmington High School. Robert also joined Bowling Green State University, was a track and field and football athlete there, but dropped out before completing his graduation.
It was Robert Patrick’s appearance as T-1000, a seemingly unstoppable Terminator, in 1991′s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, which helped him to start getting recognized as an actor.
Robert reprised the same role of T-1000 in four other projects including Wayne’s World, a big-budget action film spoof Last Action Hero; recorded film clip portions of the T2 3-D: Battle Across Time and in a Direct TV commercial. He would also be a part of the upcoming Terminator project, according to an official announcement made by the director of Terminator Salvation, McG.
In 2000, Patrick joined ‘The Sopranos’ as David Scatino and made appearances in several episodes of the series. In the first two seasons of ‘The X-Files’, Robert Patrick portrayed the character of Agent John Doggett and became a very well known face on the small screen. His next appearance was as Col. Marshall Sumner, the military component commander of the Atlantis expedition, on Sci-fi Channel’s original series ‘Stargate Atlantis’.
In 2005, he was seen on ‘Walk the Line’ portraying the character of the father of Johnny Cash. On ‘Elvis’, a TV miniseries, Robert appeared as Vernon Presley, the father of Elvis Presley. He has also made appearances on ‘The Unit’. In October, 2006, Robert made an appearance in ‘The Marine’, a WWE Films production. In ‘We Are Marshall’, Robert Patrick portrayed the character of Rick Tolley, the Marshall University head coach. Patrick then made a guest appearance on an episode of Lost and next played Master Piandao on ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’. He also narrates Disorderly Conduct: Video on Patrol, a Spike TV show and has also made appearance on Objects in the Rear View Mirror music video with Will Estes.
Patrick has two children a son, Samuel, and a daughter, Austin with his wife Barbara Patrick.
His other notable appearances are on Eye of the Eagle, Equalizer 2000, Future Hunters, Killer Instinct, Hollywood Boulevard II, Die Hard 2, Body Shot, Fire in the Sky, Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron, Double Dragon, Hong Kong 97, The Cool Surface, Zero Tolerance, The Outer Limits: “Quality of Mercy”, The Dig, Last Gasp, Decoy, The Outer Limits: “The Light Brigade”, Striptease, The Only Thrill, Rosewood, Asylum, Cop Land, Hacks and innumerous others.

Robert Patrick portrays the role of Special Agent John Doggett on ‘The X-Files’. During the eighth and ninth season of the show, Robert served as one of the main protagonists. Robert made appearances on all episodes of eighth and ninth seasons of the show.
